We both had last Friday off work so we took the opportunity to go to Age Of Sail Coffee Brewers which is only open Monday to Friday. Age Of Sail Coffee Brewers is in Tooronga Village shopping centre and is well placed to keep all the staff at the Coles Australia headquarters well caffeinated.
When we arrived there was quite a line for coffee. After waiting in line to order as there was no table service, we sat at a bench looking out of the shop on stools that were particularly uncomfortable. Even though it was the start of the day there was quite a few used dishes still on tables and most surfaces needed a wipe down.
Rather then order from the limited menu we selected from the cabinet and shared a bacon and egg roll with chipotle mayo and tasty cheese, and a buffalo chicken toastie with bacon, tasty cheese and jalapeños. The bacon and egg roll wasn’t heated properly and had cold bits in it. The toastie was really nice but a little rich and sweet for our breakfast tastes. For a place where coffee was the specialty we were both a little disappointed with our coffees. and they arrived much later than our breakfasts.
We won’t be going out of our way to go back but I also think we might have had a worse than normal experience. We would go back to Billy’s Courtyard before going back here. If you ever find yourself working close by it would be worth trying it out for yourself.
We gave Age Of Sail Coffee Brewers 4 stars.
