On the second morning of our mini holiday in Noosa we decided to try 10 Hastings St for breakfast.
It wasn’t a large place but there were enough occupied tables both inside and on the footpath outside to make it feel popular and give it a good atmosphere. We chose a seat outside and were given menus and water by a friendly waitress who also took our coffee order.
By the time we had decided on our meals my chai tea and Trent’s iced latte arrived. The chai tea was brewed in a pot with milk just as I like it with honey on the side. Trent’s iced latte was strong and enjoyable and served with a straw just as he likes it.
Without too much delay our meals arrived. My scrambled eggs were cooked exactly as I had ordered (over cooked) and came with a serve of bacon plus avocado and some relatively plain toast. Trent’s meal of waffles with strawberries and Nutella (he asked for ice cream instead of cream) was the pick of the morning – fantastically presented and yummy as well.
We were both very impressed with the service throughout the meal plus the quality of the drinks. We liked it enough that we went back for breakfast the next day with mum and dad. I had the scrambled eggs and bacon again and Trent ordered the bacon and egg burger which he said was good but didn’t blow him away.
Overall we rated 10 Hastings St 8 stars for the service and the drinks, but felt the food (other than the waffles which were brilliant) would need to be a bit better to lift it to a 9 or 10.
