On a weekend visit to stay with my sister in Sydney we went to Bondi Trattoria for a lazy Sunday breakfast.
The outside tables were very popular, but we chose to sit inside as there was a wind blowing making it a bit cold. Even from the inside tables there is a good view down to Bondi Beach making the most of the building’s location. The service was quick and bubbly with menus and water being delivered to our table quickly and coffee orders taken straight away. We did have to ask for the ceiling fans to be turned down as they were on high and making it cold inside as well. However the staff were very accomodating when we asked and were happy to oblige.
For breakfast Trent and Mick couldn’t go past ordering a Bacon & egg roll each (Lucas Meats bacon, cheese, rocket, aioli, tomato relish). They found them tasty and satisfying. Trent said it was one of the better egg and bacon rolls he’s ever had.
Claire and I decided to share a Grilled truffle cheese sandwich (Manchego, truffle paste, onion jam, rocket, dill pickle on Turkish) and a Whole egg omelette with harissa crab, asparagus, and roasted tomato. The truffle cheese sandwich had a fantastic flavour, and the omelette came with a generous amount of crab. Both were rich meals but incredibly tasty.
Overall we were impressed with the service, the drinks, the food and the views. We rated Bondi Trattoria 9 stars.
